UnLimited Media Announce Andy Malt As New Editor of CMU

Andy has worked on CMU since April 2008, and already edits the weekly CMU e-bulletins: the CMU Weekly and Remix Update. As Editor, he will oversee the editorial operations of all of CMU’s output, including flagship e-bulletin the CMU Daily, which is now read by over 18,000 music people every single day.UnLimited’s directors, Chris Cooke and Caro Moses, who were previously the joint editors of CMU, will continue to oversee the network’s commercial operations as co-Publishers.Chris will also continue to have a daily editorial involvement in CMU as Business Editor, heading up the Daily’s acclaimed coverage of the music and media industries. Caro, meanwhile, is overseeing the launch of a brand new UnLimited news service called ThisWeek in London.Confirming Andy’s appointment as Editor, Chris said: “CMU continues to grow every month, both in terms of readership and coverage. In the last year that expansion accelerated, most notably with the launch of the CMU Weekly and the relaunch of our popular Remix Update. Andy has played a key role in those developments, and I’m excited about him expanding his editorial role as we head towards 2010, which should see even more CMU products come to fruition. Andy shares mine and Caro’s passion for great new music, our fascination with the way the modern music business works, and our slightly irreverent outlook on the world. Your daily dose of all things music is in safe hands”.Andy added: “It’s been great to be so closely involved with developments at CMU over the last eighteen months, and I’m very much looking forward to overseeing the whole range of CMU publications. As Chris says, readers can rest assured that the content will remain as informative and irreverent as ever, as it continues to reach an ever wider audience”.Andy’s appointment comes as UnLimited refreshes theCMUwebsite.com, the hub of all things CMU. At the heart of the refreshed website will be the CMU NewsBlog, which will aggregate all the news coverage from the CMU Daily, making it easier to navigate and link to CMU’s news archives. The NewsBlog will also enable readers to subscribe to CMU via RSS, picking and choosing the sections of CMU’s expansive coverage of the music world as they so wish.
