  • Young Knives And Thirteen Senses Sign Up For GPM's Multi-Territory Marketing Muscle

Monday 1st November, London:- Young Knives and Thirteen Senses are the first new signings to receive the benefits of full-service, multi-territorial marketing campaigns as they sign to [PIAS]'s newly launched Global Project Management Division.Unveiled last week as the next phase in [PIAS]'s development of artist services, GPM's cross-discipline, pan-European set up makes the shift away from the traditional product cycle-based approach, focusing on bespoke marketing strategies and income streams for artists across all media on a continuous basis.Known for their energetic live performances, Leicestershire locals Young Knives, managed by Elbow's manager Phil Chadwick, are the first new signing to GPM. Previously signed to Transgressive (Warners) and with a clutch of alternative offers, the deal will see [PIAS] working very closely with Phil and the band on all aspects of marketing and income.Following the huge success of their debut mini album release 'The Young Knives...Are Dead' the band released their Mercury nominated first full length album 'Voices of Animals and Men' in 2006. They quickly built up a strong live following earning a reputation as festival favourites.  2008 saw the release of their second album 'Superabundance' featuring the singles 'Terra Firma', 'Up All Night' and 'Turn Tail'.The new deal will see the band receive full-service marketing across Europe over the next two years, during which time their third album will be released, with March 2011 slated as release date. The as yet untitled album, recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Nick Launay (Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Cribs) will be supported by an extensive national tour.Says Phil Chadwick, TRC Management Ltd. "We had a number of different offers on the table for releasing Young Knives' third album. We decided to work with [PIAS] as they were able to demonstrate a high level of skill in many key departments, namely a broad range of marketing services as well as sales and distribution. The way each department works together in unison across all territories is very impressive'"Joining Young Knives are management stablemates Thirteen Senses. Previously signed to Mercury, Thirteen Senses bounded onto the indie rock scene in 2004 with their first album 'The Invitation'. The piano-heavy, dreamlike album reached #14 in the UK Album charts and was followed by a string of live dates including astounding performances at major festivals around the UK and taking in shows as far afield as Russia.  Their second album 'Contact', the majority of which was written whilst on tour, was released three years later to critical acclaim.  The band's music has also been used for numerous ad campaigns including Vodafone, Quiksilver and Orange and can frequently be heard on TV shows such as Greys Anatomy, Kyle XY, Bones, Without a Trace, The 4400 and ER to name a few.The deal will see Thirteen senses benefit from the GPM's suite of marketing services, starting with the releases of their third album, 'Crystal Sounds' in February 2011.Commented Sean Mayo, Head of Project Management PIAS UK "It's a pleasure to be in business with such a forward thinking manager as Phil. Working with two high quality artists such as Young Knives and Thirteen Senses provides us with plenty of opportunity to maximise the broad range of services our new Global Project Management team brings to a campaign. "Both these great albums are excellent starting points and we look forward to creating a whole range of opportunities that benefit the artists careers in addition to selling their CDs and downloads."The Global Project Management builds on existing relationships with artists such as Placebo, Tiesto, Carl Barat and The Jim Jones Revue and will be adding a raft of new projects to be announced in the coming weeks.----ENDS------About [PIAS] Global Project Management[PIAS] GPM is an artist focused solution that centrally co-ordinates, manages and drives the success of projects on a multi-territorial basis.
