BRIT Award Fans to Vote with App for First Time
London, 5th January 2012: – Today digital development company Noise Inc. announces that it has been selected by the prestigious BRIT Awards 2012 with MasterCard to build the organisation’s first ever iPhone app, that will allow fans to vote directly for the public voted-for categories through their phones.The BRIT Awards 2012 with MasterCard iPhone app by Noise Inc. will go live on 12th January as a free download from Apple’s App Store, in time for public voting to begin as soon as the nominations are announced. It will feature news and competition elements, including allowing voting for nominees in the three award categories of:- 10 nominees for British Single (voted for by listeners of Capital FM and users of iTunes);- 5 nominees for British Group (supported by BBC Radio 2); and- 5 nominees for British Breakthrough (supported by BBC Radio 1).The BRIT Awards App will also offer chances to win tickets, and provide fans with news updates directly from the Awards and the ability to purchase performance audio from the night of the Awards.Noise Inc. fast tracked the development of The BRIT Award app, meeting a one month deadline to meet the go live date in conjunction with the Award Nominations announcement at The Savoy Hotel. The project, headed by Noise Inc.’s veteran BRIT School alumni James Coughlan, demonstrates the multi-layered possibility for a major brand to reach its audience through a digital channel.
