First To Sign With [PIAS] At Their New Offices Are...The Darkness!

London, 25^th June 2012 – Rock legends The Darkness have become the first band to sign a deal with [PIAS] at their new Tower Bridge HQ. The licensing agreement, which will see [PIAS] release the band’s anticipated 3rd album across the world excluding USA, was signed this afternoon on [PIAS]’ first day of business at their new offices.The new album ‘Hot Cakes’ is their first since 2005’s One Way Ticket To Hell... And Back. It is slated for a 20^th August release by [PIAS] via The Darkness’ own label Chelsea Dwarf, ahead of lead single ‘Everybody Have A Good Time’ , released 2^nd July.The band is also supporting Lady Gaga on her massive European tour later this summer.Said Peter Thompson, Managing Director of [PIAS] UK: “No one does what The Darkness do better than The Darkness and The Darkness are back better than ever and we're gonna enjoy every minute of it, especially when there are bears involved!”Ian Johnsen, Manager of Mythophonic Music Management, representing The Darkness, said: "The band, Rick and myself are honoured to be working with our friends at PIAS, nearly as honoured as they are to be working with us, and we wish them well in their bright and airy new office space.
