The first fruits of this partnership will include an eagerly-awaited new album from Kerrang! cover stars Asking Alexandria (due 2013) as well as the full-length debut from Australian metalcore five-piece Capture The Crown, titled ‘Til Death (due January 14th). Building on their considerable online presence (including 5m YouTube views for their debut single) Capture The Crown are already famed for their work ethic and play more than 40 dates on their current North American tour.Other significant releases include the 12th studio album from Canadian legends The Tragically Hip (Now For Plan A, out now on Zoë Records/Rounder) and All The Little Lights by Passenger (on Nettwerk). The latter has already charted in Austria and Holland and Passenger, aka Brighton-based singer-songwriter Mike Rosenberg, recently supported Ed Sheeran on UK and European tour dates.Moving into 2013, Essential is also delighted to announce a distribution deal with hip hop legend RZA and his Soul Temple imprint. Headed by Bob Frank, former President of E1, and the producer Bob Perry, Soul Temple will release new albums next year from Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killa and Joell Ortiz. This activity follows a massively successful 2012 for Essential, with albums from The Enemy, The View, Matt Cardle and Madness all breaking the UK Top 10 as well as Top 20 successes for The Cult, Marilyn Manson, Paul Buchanan and Reverend & The Makers. This is in addition to signing deals with a variety of labels including Wall Of Sound, Fierce Panda and Razor & Tie.Mike Chadwick, Founder and MD of Essential said: “We finish 2012 as we mean to go on:  signing talent, supporting some of the world’s best independent labels and providing the widest range of services from marketing to distribution.
