Following the resounding success of AIF training seminars over the past two years, AIF are set to host a new two-day seminar focusing on festival marketing, promotion and funding.It will be the first in a series seminars planned for the winter 2013/14 and will offer ample networking opportunities.The seminar will see experts from the festival marketing field delve into various topics including how to use the latest technologies and innovations affordably and effectively, various sources of festival funding and RFID cashless technology. There will be several guest speakers and best practice case studies from festivals including Bestival and Tramlines.Oliver Cameron, General Manager of marketing technology specialists 'Festival HQ' will present a selection of the most useful digital and social tools available for festival organisers, explaining how to get the best results from them to grow an audience with minimal cost. Steve Machin of Storm Crowd and The Dot Ticket Org will also present practical experiences from using bleeding edge technology to deliver experiences for festivals.In addition, Joe Elkins, Get Involved / Bestival will examine the promotion of the annual sell-out event, looking at the production of unique marketable content.The second day includes a discussion on the game-changing effects that contactless technology is now having on the festivals live events sector, and the opportunities this presents for forward-thinking, independent organisers.There will also be several opportunities to network throughout the seminar, the main two being a networking dinner on Wednesday followed by an AIF Festival Social hosted by Tramlines in association with local independent promoters Semi Detached.
