Technology&Teamwork (members of Hot Chip, XX Teens) to support Pawws at The Waiting Room, stream latest single “Small Victory”

New duo Technology&Teamwork are to support dance-pop songstress Pawws on Thursday 5th December at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington for their third ever show.Technology&Teamwork are Anthony Silvester (XX Teens) and Sarah Jones (Hot Chip, New Young Pony Club, Bat For Lashes).

The pair met at Bestival in 2008 via a mutual friend and decided to start their own band; but the following years would see Anthony lost in the art world and Sarah lost in the session world. In spite of this, their pact held true and after scoring Simon Green’s film Albatross: A Love Story in 2012, the band took shape in July, naming themselves after a phrase Sarah picked up from a book on polar exploration.Their sound emerges with a raw and sensual drive, blending the electronic experimentalism of Janine Rostron (Planningtorock) with the honesty of Arthur Russell’s more vocal led takes. Taking the roaring gallop of their previous acts and reworking it, Anthony’s earnest lyricism meets Sarah’s dancefloor-tuned sensibilities around a love of the synthesiser. The last four months have seen the pair receive airplay on Marc Riley’s BBC Radio 6 show and play two gigs, the first supporting New Build in July and then putting on a mesmerizing performance supporting Grovesnor at Dalston’s Servant Jazz Quarters in October.Immediate plans include self-releasing their debut single, ‘Small Victory’, which will have remixes by Hot Chip and a video directed with Rich Wilson (Skin Jobs, XX Teens).  Their much-anticipated debut album is also in the pipeline, as well as another film collaboration with Simon Green.
