Monuments ready to bring the heavy to Hatfield Rocks!

  • Monuments headline Hatfield Rocks at The Forum Hertfordshire
  • ONLY UK show before Download Festival 2014
  • Support from Brutai  and Canvas
  • Thursday 22nd May 2014, 7pm – 10:30pm

London-based ‘progroove’ metal quintet Monuments are set to storm The Forum Hertfordshire  on 22nd May, headlining the heaviest lineup under the Hatfield Rocks banner to date. With support from fellow London metallers Brutai and Bedfordshire melodic hardcore act Canvas, the guitars will be turned up to 11 in the intimate setting of The Forum’s ‘Attic’ venue for a night of earth shaking music!Formed by guitarist John Browne from the ashes of the pioneering technical groove metallers, Fellsilent, Monuments starts somewhat where Fellsilent left off. In the years following that band’s demise, Browne honed his craft, both as a songwriter and producer and has brought Monuments  out of the underground, prepped and ready for the masses. The result of this is debut album Gnosis – nine tracks of thoroughly modern progressive metal that has as many hooks as it does important political messages. Monuments have created a sound that is as deeply rooted in the here and now as it is in spirituality. There is a balance found in the thought processes and the music. “Gnosis” is the result of years of hard work.Support act Brutai are up-and-comers on the UK metal scene. Since releasing their latest self-titled EP in May last year, they have gone from strength to strength being featured on Kerrang! Radio and in the pages of Metal Hammer. With a set coming up at Germany’s EuroBlast 2014 on the cards, it’s unlikely that you will see them as a support act for much longer.Hatfield Rocks is an initiative created by The Forum Hertfordshire to cultivate local talent and give them the chance to support established artists. Opening this show will be Bedfordshire melodic hardcore quintet Canvas. 2013 was a busy year for the guys, signing to Transcend Music (Heights, Heart Of A Coward, Liferuiner) and touring with the likes of Dead Harts and All We Have as they look to record their debut album this year. This is Monuments’ only UK show before their appearance at Download Festival 2014, this is an unmissable opportunity to see the band at close proximity before they tear the Red Bull stage apart in June!Listings information:Who’s Playing:                       Monuments                             Support from:BrutaiCanvasDate:                                       Thursday, 22nd May 2014Time:                                       7pm – 10.30pmPlace:                                      The Forum HertfordshireUniversity of HertfordshireCollege LaneHatfieldAL10 9ABPrice:                                       £5 (includes free entry to breakout for over 18s)Tickets:                                   http://goo.gl/etKLXOAbout The Forum HertfordshireThe Forum Hertfordshire opened its doors in 2009, a custom build from scratch.
