Forum Hertfordshire Celebrates 5 Years With Refurb, Rebrand and Raft of Gigs
- Dates announced, including chart-toppers Sigma, Deaf Havana, Example and Pendulum- £100k refit of The Attic nightclub- Web site revamped The Forum Hertfordshire, Hatfield’s 2250 capacity state-of-the-art concert venue, is to celebrate its fifth birthday with a burst of activity from late September through to January 2015.Onsite nightclub The Attic is benefitting from a £100k regeneration, whilst a number of celebratory gigs have been scheduled, including two special events featuring top flight drum & bass acts, Sigma (chart-toppers last week, currently at #2 on the UK Singles Chart), Matrix & Futurebound and Pendulum.In addition, further headline celebratory gigs are confirmed: Deaf Havana will play a special one-off Autumn gig, and taking a break from her UK tour with Katy B, Becky Hill – who has had hits with Oliver Heldens (Gecko ‘Overdrive’) and Wilkinson (‘Afterglow’) - will be appearing on the 1st October, and multi-platinum selling artist Example is joined by DJ Wire for a special show on 3rd October.As part of the refit, The Attic – a 320-capacity venue upstairs from the main auditorium – will gain an intelligent lighting system, an extended stage and LED screen, as well as new booths, flooring, display screens, a new bar and conference capabilities.In addition, The Forum Hertfordshire’s web site was relaunched this week after having undergone a complete redesign, integrating Spotify playlists and social media functionality, and streamlining the ticket buying and venue hire processes.The Forum Hertfordshire opened its doors in 2009, a custom build from scratch, with three entertainment spaces. It has played host to major music acts including Florence and the Machine, Ed Sheeran, will.i.am, Professor Green and Chase & Status. For the last five years it has been home to the 10,000 capacity Slam Dunk festival, which won Best Festival at the 2014 Kerrang! Awards.It is also a popular venue for hire, playing host this year to the first ever Pole Theatre UK finals, as well as running events with BBC Three Counties Radio.It is also a favoured local venue of Enter Shikari, whose June date was the venue’s fastest selling ever, with over 1300 tickets sold within 30 minutes of release.Entertainment & Events Manager Lee Welsh said: “Over the last five years, The Forum Hertfordshire has cemented its reputation as a top live music venue, nightclub and Students’ Union.
