Cherry Red Signs The Fall, Jah Wobble and Tony Banks to Catalogue Deals

- Extends relationship with The Fall and Jah Wobble following great success with previous projects- The Fall agree 40 album catalogue deal- Acquires Jah Wobble record label 30 Hertz and back catalogue- Tony Banks (Genesis) also signs catalogue licensing deal- Cherry Red purchases Another Planet labelLondon:- Building on previous successes together, Cherry Red has signed up the catalogues of post-punk mainstays The Fall and dub experimentalist Jah Wobble, acquiring the latter’s record label 30 Hertz. The company has also agreed a worldwide licensing deal with Tony Banks of Genesis fame, as well as purchasing Oxfordshire based record label, Another Planet.The newly agreed worldwide deal with The Fall covers around 40 studio and live albums from the band’s extensive back catalogue, including Live At The Witch Trials, Dragnet and Middle Class Revolt. A number of special edition releases and boxsets are planned.In addition, the band have just released their latest long-player Sub Lingual Tablet (11th May) through Cherry Red, having previously partnered on most recent albums, Ersatz GB and Re-Mit. UK tour dates are set throughout the year including festival slots at Glastonbury, Green Man and Lunar Festival.Cherry Red is also expanding its relationship with post-punk turned dub musician Jah Wobble with the acquisition of his label 30 Hertz – home to his many releases and genre-defying side projects. The deal covers all rights for his back catalogue of over 30 albums, excluding his recordings with Public Image Limited (PiL). This includes Chinese Dub (Jah Wobble & The Chinese Dub Orchestra), the folky album English Roots Music and dub inspired album Heart And Soul.In celebration of his incredibly diverse career, Cherry Red is to release ReDux - a mammoth 92-track, 6 CD retrospective boxset. Available this week, the anthology includes a brand new and exclusive covers disc, of which a separate limited edition vinyl will also be available. Cherry Red also released a special vinyl edition of new single ‘Merry Go Round’ and B-side ‘Let’s Go Psycho’ for this year’s Record Store Day. Both tracks will feature on the boxset, which also includes work from Jah Wobble’s tenure in PiL alongside the Sex Pistols’ John Lydon.Meanwhile, multi-instrumentalist, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and founding member of Genesis, Tony Banks has signed off on a new seven album catalogue licensing deal. Covering his solo projects only, the deal includes the albums A Curious Feeling, The Fugitive, The Wicked Lady, Soundtracks, Still, Bankstatement and Strictly Inc., and also sees the release of his first ever boxset anthology, A Chord Too Far, in July (including some previously unreleased material).Additionally, Cherry Red has purchased longstanding record label, Another Planet, acquiring all rights to its catalogue.
