Rumer Signs to Cooking Vinyl for Special Nashville Album Project
London, 17 June 2019: Having already added four artists to their roster earlier this year, Cooking Vinyl’s A&R team are continuing to make big moves, signing a deal with award-winning British singer-songwriter Rumer for a worldwide royalty deal.Dubbed the “heir to Dusty Springfield” by Q Magazine, Rumer is currently working on her fifth studio album which she is recording in Nashville. Collaborating with “Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame” songwriter Hugh Prestwood and producer Fred Mollin (whose credits include Jimmy Webb and Johnny Mathis), the record is due for completion Autumn 2019 and released early 2020.Set to perform an intimate solo concert at the Rye Jazz Festival at St Mary’s Church on 24th August, Rumer has earned rave reviews for her live shows across the globe.In 2010, Rumer debuted her solo LP Seasons Of My Soul which went on to sell over a million copies and is now certified 2x platinum in the UK. In 2012, Rumer released Boys Don’t Cry, featuring powerful covers of ‘70s era artists like Todd Rundgren and Isaac Hayes, which came in at #3 in the UK. This was followed by a second album of original content - 2014’s Into Colour - where she worked closely with long-time Burt Bacharach collaborator Rob Shirakbari and the pair teamed up again in 2016 on her special project This Girl’s in Love: A Bacharach and David Songbook.On joining the roster, Rumer said: “I am really excited that Cooking Vinyl trusted my vision for this project and working with an independent label has been a very pleasant change!
