AIM Sync, the UK’s leading global sync conference and marketplace hosted by the Association of Independent Music (AIM), has announced the next wave of speakers for its return on Tuesday 8th April.

AIM Sync brings together in-house sync experts, leading music entrepreneurs, and prominent international music supervisors across film and TV, gaming, advertising, brands and more. The conference takes place online on Tuesday 8th April, with a follow-up in-person networking session on 29th April.

Newly added to the lineup is a case study from the sync team behind Kneecap, the Bafta-winning 2024 biopic detailing the rise of the Belfast hiphop trio of the same name. David McGinnis (Managing Director, Mute Song), Karen Crossan (Music Coordinator, Eyehear) and others will examine the film’s soundtrack and sync strategy, which championed tracks from independent artists including Bicep, Fontaines D.C., and Orbital, as well as Kneecap themselves.

This year’s keynote interview is with Air-Edel’s Matt Biffa, Emmy-winning music supervisor and President of the UK and European Guild of Music Supervisors. Biffa is known for his work on productions ranging from the Harry Potter films to acclaimed TV shows Sex Education, Afterlife, The End of the F****** Word and I May Destroy You.

In line with AIM’s commitment to champion independent communities across all nations and regions of the UK, the event will feature a panel on ‘Beyond The M25: How To Win Sync Placements Without A London Postcode’. This will hear from Newcastle’s Chelsea Wood (Director, Got Music), Leicester’s Lloyd Luther (rap artist/producer), Brighton’s Dave Philpot (Director, Republic of Sync) and Liverpool’s Elizabeth Perryman (Sync Executive, Sentric).

As always, the conference will be packed with high-level sync expertise, with highlights including a ‘Sync Market State of the Nation’, as well as sessions on ‘The Value of Independence’, ‘Opportunities in Gaming’ and ‘Music Supervision, Music Copyright, The Role of a Rightsholder - Craft vs. Expectation’. Territory overviews will focus in on sync opportunities in Spain and Finland, while a Sync Tools Overview will be presented by Fred Schindler, CEO of Too Young, the international music supervision company known for work with brands like Chanel, Nike and MAC Cosmetics.

Other speakers include Kadambari Chauhan (Music Supervisor, Redfive Creative), Michelle Stoddart (Founder / Sync Rep, Stoddart Music), Robyn Sumner (Head of Sync UK, Believe), Sam Stockham (Creative Sync and Licensing Manager, Anjunabeats/ Involved Publishing), Paulina Márquez (freelance music supervisor), Jumi Akinfenwa (freelance music supervisor), Alex Kelly (Head of Sync, Cooking Vinyl), Codie Childs (Senior Music Supervisor, Sony Interactive Entertainment), Catherine Grieves (Director, 45RPM and 33RPM), Sam MacNamara (Senior Music Supervisor, Wake The Town / theodore Music) and Leo Niemi (music supervisor).

The Independent Sync Awards also return, celebrating the independent sector’s most innovative music supervisors, as well as its biggest sync success stories and the teams behind them. Nominations for both categories, ‘Music Supervisor of the Year’ and ‘Independent Sync Of The Year,’ have now closed, with shortlists to be revealed online in the coming days.

Gee Davy, CEO of AIM, said: “I am delighted that we are able to bring back AIM Sync for 2025. With global sync revenues up for the fourth year running, the conference will explore the valuable opportunities that sync opens up for music businesses, entrepreneurs and creators.  Sync remains a key revenue stream as well as providing defining moments on the road to an artist’s long-term success and unique mutually beneficial brand partnerships. As always, AIM will be providing a high-quality and well-organised online conference and networking experience, with the ability to capitalise on the connections made virtually at this year’s in-person follow-up networking session for those in and around London. To cap it all off, we are once again celebrating some of the sync successes of the last year with our two Independent Sync Awards.

The day will see the return of the hugely popular Listening Sessions, where attendees can submit tracks for real time feedback from music supervisors and sync experts. Online networking sessions and pre-booked one-to-one meeting sessions will run throughout the day.

Tickets for AIM Sync are available here, including details of discounted prices for members and friends of AIM, as well as members of other trade organisations and businesses based outside London.

A limited number of slots are also available for AIM Sync’s in-person networking event at London’s Strongroom Bar on 29th April, including pre-booked ‘speed networking’ sessions with music supervisors. Tickets can be purchased as ‘online-only’ or ‘online with in-person networking,’ with limited slots allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
