outside:inside festival reveals full ’Pop up, Pop in, Pop Out’ entertainment

The eclectic mix of parties, shops, food, art, theatre, poetry, comedy, fashion, film and even more music on offer at the UK’s first true pop-up festival, outside:inside in Reading, is revealed...Following the sad loss of local music producer Martin Rushent who was due to DJ at the festival, fans will see a host of friends and bands he has worked with paying tribute to him.  His son James Rushent of Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Killa Kella, who’s Reveal Your Inner Self track was produced by the father and son team, will lead the tributes with a DJ set in his honour. Events held will be in support of Action for Children, a charity close to Martin’s heart.From spoken word artist Poejazzi appearing in St George’s Courtyard and a vintage market which will transform Forbury Hill into ‘Vintage Hill’, to Man Like Me’s midnight set at the Oakford Social Club, Hogarth Productions’ street theatre and the cinematic and electronic takeover of the Pentahotel – the timings and locations are ready... but do be prepared for some last minute extras that will spring up to surprise you!9^th July will see the start of month long Saturday takeovers of the town centre’s leafy Forbury Gardens, St Laurence Church, Market Place, bars and venues along the buzzing Friar Street, St Georges Courtyard and the luxury Pentahotel, plus so many more surprise events and entertainments for all.The official outside:inside Festival Merch Store opened last weekend, to warm up the locals with the array of forthcoming events, and will remain there throughout July. Taking over a disused store space in Market Place, the shop is selling festival tickets, a Sunday Best Records selection, more music and merchandise from local artists such as KoOdle’s Vikki Aust, limited edition and signed merch from outside:inside performers. The shop is also offering performance space, a workshop and art gallery hosted by Reading based arts organisation jelly that have been using empty shops and spaces for arts shows for the past 18 years.  This year the team join with outside:inside, bringing together artwork, music and limited edition items by musicians and artists, with much already up around Reading town centre as the festival draws near. A percentage of profits will be going towards local homeless project Launchpad, who will have a presence throughout the festival’s activities.Full entertainment details below:Saturday 9^th July – Pop Up Day!
