Wall Of Sound Enters New Dawn!.. via Global Deal With Essential
- Covers distribution and services for all new Wall Of Sound releases - New label manager Gavin Fraser joins- Albums lined up for 2013 include British Electric Foundation, Mekon, Adamski presents Neo Waltz, Sykur, Echoes and Killaflaw - Wall Of Sound embarks on ‘End Of The World’ tour of the UK and Ibiza Legendary British independent Wall Of Sound has inked a global services deal with Essential Music & Marketing.The agreement, which begins with immediate effect, covers manufacture, sales, retail marketing, physical and digital distribution, sync and licensing of all future WoS releases. This includes forthcoming albums from British Electric Foundation, Mekon, Sykur, Echoes, Adamski presents Neo Waltz and Killaflaw.Bolstering the new operation will be new label manager Gavin Fraser, who brings over 10 years of experience from the likes of Ministry of Sound, Demon and Nuphonic. Fraser will assume responsibility for day-to-day activities at Wall Of Sound.In a busy Q1 2013 schedule, Wall of Sound will release a number of new albums, including Mekon’s Piece Of Work, which features appearances from hip hop legend Schoolly D, Cleo Torres from Agent Provocateur, post industrial techno artist PIG (aka Raymond Watts) and former Adam & The Ants guitarist Marco Pirroni. Also coming is the debut album Mesopotamia from Icelandic electro four piece Sykur and the third installment – Dark - from Martyn Ware’s British Electric Foundation. Presenting interpretations of classic songs, this features a series of guest vocalists including Boy George, Sandie Shaw, Green Gartside, Shingai Shinowa, Kim Wilde, Andy Bell and Glenn Gregory.Finally, in December 2012, Wall Of Sound will embark on an ‘End Of The World’ UK tour, following predictions made in the Mayan calendar. Featuring live appearances from Killaflaw, Echoes, BB and more, plus DJ sets from Adamski, Mekon and Mark Jones himself, the tour ends with an Ibiza grand finale on 21/12/12 - our supposed day of judgment - at Pikes/Ibiza Rocks House.
